The Development Associate is responsible for administrative, logistical, and programmatic support to the President & CEO in implementing NPCA’s fundraising plans and strategies. The associate participates in all fundraising activities, including donor relations, campaigns, grant writing, and special events.

  

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist with the preparation of annual fundraising plans and strategies, including setting targets and determining resource requirements to achieve them

  • Research individual donors, identifying potential new donors, and updating information on current and past donors

  • Schedule cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings and phone calls

  • Participate with the president & CEO in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, including personal meetings and phone calls

  • Draft content for multimedia (digital and print) marketing campaigns 

  • Research, identify, and help pursue opportunities for corporate sponsorships

  • Research and identify opportunities for foundation grants, assist in preparing letters of interest, grant applications, and proposals

  • Process donations and update donation records in the database

  • Track campaign progress toward goals and management strategies

  • Write solicitation letters, gift acknowledgement letters, and other correspondence

  • Maintain documentation on corporate, foundation, and individual donors

  • Assist with fundraising committee meetings, including setting the agenda, arranging logistics, notifying of meetings, and drafting minutes

  • Coordinate fundraising and donor events, including the annual Shriver Leadership Summit in March, and other special events

     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of three years of experience, of which one year should include development or fundraising responsibilities

  • Experience in administration, logistics planning, event coordination, and office support

  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks

  • Highly attentive to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Highly motivated, resourceful, and creative, thriving on the opportunity to contribute to the Peace Corps community

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint are required

  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems preferred

  • Returned Peace Corps Volunteer preferred
