Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
The British Embassy in Brussels is part of a world-wide network of 230 Diplomatic Posts, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas.
The Department for International Trade (DIT), the UK Government organisation that supports UK-based companies to succeed internationally and assists overseas companies to bring high-quality investment to the UK’s economy, is seeking to recruit a Senior Trade Adviser for Belgium, responsible for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), healthcare and construction.
Although the appointment is for an indefinite period of time, it is expected that the overall period of service will most probably not exceed March 2021.
The job holder will contribute to the delivery of the DIT Belgium country trade plan and increase UK exports by supporting UK companies in the pursuit of commercial opportunities in Belgium. Main responsibilities involve answering enquiries of UK companies about the local market, identifying relevant commercial opportunities and business partners, organising events and meeting programmes, and building a network of commercial stakeholders. The job holder will be responsible for specific business sectors but will also have the opportunity to work on other business sectors and projects that advance UK prosperity.
DIT in return offers an interesting working environment, the opportunity to be part of an inclusive and diverse team and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.
