Position description

Provide policy and programmatic support to the U.S.-Egypt Business Council and the U.S.-Kuwait Business Council, activities focused on the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), and other department initiatives as needed. Liaise with a broad range of companies, government agencies, and business associations in the U.S., Egypt, Kuwait, the U.A.E., and other countries across the Middle East. 

 

RESPONSIBILIITES:

  • Help manage council activities and programs, including policy and program development.

  • Implement and support events in the U.S. and countries in these regions. 

  • Promote and execute business missions and meetings to Egypt, Kuwait, and the U.A.E., as well as visits from senior-level government officials and business leaders from these countries to the U.S. 

  • Prepare fundraising proposals and membership packages.

  • Work with member companies and identify prospective members to further their business in target countries.

  • Help manage events, including developing agendas and interfacing with speakers, government officials, and key partners that promote the organization and programs in Egypt, Kuwait, and the U.A.E.

  • Coordinate with AmChams based in Egypt, Kuwait, and the U.A.E. to advance program objectives.

  • Handle other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, international business, or a related field.

  • 8+ years’ work experience.

  • An understanding and familiarity with business associations and/or U.S. business operations.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communications.  

  • Flexibility for international travel.

  • Arabic fluency is a plus.
