Position description

Girls Who Code is an international non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology. Through our programs, we are leading the movement to inspire, educate, and equip young women with the skills to pursue careers in technology fields. Girls Who Code is searching for a dynamic, results-oriented Program Implementation Manager to lead a remote team and support international volunteer facilitators in the implementation of our free Clubs Program, including adoption of our custom curriculum delivery system, Girls Who Code HQ. Volunteers are based in Canada, the U.K., India and additional countries.


The ideal candidate has experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with volunteers, providing high-quality customer support, and experience managing remote teams. The candidate must also be a detailed project manager who can balance strategy and program execution in a dynamic environment. This position reports to the Director of International Expansion.



    • Team Management: 
    • Manage 1-2 local staff, as well as 5-6 remote team members in several countries and across time zones who support our facilitators and ensure girls have a positive experience 
    • Manage planning and logistics of remote training for new staff in target countries; create and update all tools and resources that drive success for the team
    • Manage all employment contracts for remote staff with People & Culture team
    • Define structures and protocols to respond to inbound communications from remote staff
    • Manage logistics for site visits by Girls Who Code staff and leadership when needed 
    • Strategy & Evaluation: 
    • Create tools to effectively collect feedback from facilitators and evaluate the efficacy of GWC’s resources and support systems
    • Evaluate engagement data to set targets for annual renewal planning and monitor progress toward goals
    • Drive program success by ensuring that all Clubs are equipped with the tools and relevant materials to launch programming
    • Create proactive and just-in-time communication campaigns to support facilitators Advise on programmatic feedback from facilitators on a quarterly basis and update the Director of International on support needed for Clubs in each country
    • Training Design & Execution:
    • Create training content for international Facilitators to support the activation and launch of their Clubs
    • Support the delivery of high-quality workshops, and individual action-based sessions for Facilitators on student recruitment and other key areas of programming
    • Develop and implement strategies for hosting and leading online training sessions across countries, including online training materials for Clubs
    • Collect and implement feedback on online training experience for increased training efficacy
    • Project Management & Collaboration:
    • Identify systems and process improvements necessary for high-quality program executionDevelop project plans to tightly manage execution of GWC Clubs in target countries
    • Collaborate with system operations and product teams to support both short and long-term operational systems
    • Develop systems for cross-team communication and transparency around work streams; think creatively about how to improve cross-team and organization-wide communication and collaboration
    • Understand application management process, identify operational challenges as they arise, and collaborate with operations team to anticipate growth


  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in an expansion-oriented role with demonstrated business results; remote management experience a plus
  • Successful track record in communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on cross-functional projects
  • Excellent people skills with an ability to balance priorities, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external partners
  • Strong customer service and personnel support skills, proven ability to manage and respond to a large volume of communication from multiple stakeholders
  • Strong leadership abilities and willingness to pitch-in, problem solve, and identify areas of improvement across the team
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing requirements and shifting priorities; enjoy building and growing programs
  • Knowledge of computer science education space strongly preferred
  • Willing to travel internationally up to 25% of time Commitment to Girls Who Code’s mission
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience required
