Position description

As an advisor to the executive board members in Tokyo, New York and major global financial cities, the candidate will:

  • Network with US government officials in both the administration and on Capitol Hill to understand risks and opportunities (both legislative and regulatory) for the Bank.
  • Provide analysis and strategic insights to the board and executives of the Mizuho Group, 
  • Lobby on financial related issues with trade associations and consulting firms
  • Organize high level meetings for bank executives with key US government officials for lobbying purposes
  • Maintain communications and attend meetings with Mizuho group executives, Mizuho group clients and other important stakeholders

The ideal candidate will

  • Have prior experience working at a US government office in Washington
  • Have prior experience working in government affairs for a legal firm, trade association or financial institution with a focus on monitoring legislative and regulatory developments
  • Have excellent interpersonal and networking skills with prior experience as a lobbyist
  • Have strong research skills gained from prior employment and professional knowledge of US government affairs
