Job Overview: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as an Adjunct Faculty Member for our online Intelligence and Security Studies Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching security studies related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas related to geostrategy, strategic thought, security concepts in science and technology. Additional areas of interest include transnational crime and corruption, political extremism, environmental security, democracy, ethnicity, and development across, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the education of future professionals in the intelligence and security sectors while utilizing innovative online teaching methods.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of a Master's degree in Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
  2. Demonstrated expertise and professional experience in security policy, counterterrorism, or a related area.
  3. Previous experience teaching at the college or university level, preferably in an online or blended learning environment.
  4. Familiarity with online learning platforms and instructional technologies, such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), video conferencing tools, and multimedia software.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  7. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects diverse perspectives and promotes academic excellence.

Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate online discussions, debates, and collaborative activities to enhance student learning and critical thinking skills.
  2. Provide timely feedback and assessment of student work, ensuring academic rigor and adherence to program objectives.
  3. Foster a supportive and inclusive online learning environment that promotes student engagement, participation, and success.
  4. Maintain regular communication with students, responding promptly to inquiries and providing academic guidance and support as needed.
  5. Stay abreast of developments in the field of security studies, integrating relevant research findings and current events into course content.
  6. Collaborate with program faculty and staff to evaluate and improve curriculum, instructional methods, and program outcomes.
  7. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and other departmental initiatives as required.

Pay and Benefits: Adjunct Faculty are paid a fixed rate salary based on course assignment. The compensation for course assignment ranges from $2,000 - $2,625 per course assignment based upon degree level and course modality.
