Salary:USD $85,000 - $120,000 / year
The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition is seeking a highly motivated Deputy Policy Director to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to drive content for USGLC’s public and private events, developing issue briefs and policy products, and conducting policy research and analyzing trends on U.S. international development, diplomacy, and economic programs. You will play a critical role in ensuring our work is aligned with best practices and addresses the most pressing challenges facing U.S. international affairs. This position reports to the Senior Director for Policy and Strategy and is based in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:
- Help drive the organization’s agenda to leverage policy and messaging across teams to advance the organization’s mission and strengthen U.S. diplomacy, development, and economic programs.
- Create and curate memos and content for USGLC’s growing convening platforms, including public and private policy events and salons in Washington DC and around the country.
- Conduct research and analysis on a variety of U.S. international development issues, including the global threat environment, the global competition with China, global food security and humanitarian crises, global health, climate change and energy, the multilateral system, and democracy around the world.
- Develop clear, concise and timely policy briefs, reports, and other policy materials for a variety of internal and external audiences.
- Monitor and evaluate U.S. international development agencies, policies, and programs, assessing their effectiveness and impact and identify emerging trends.
- Collaborate with fellow teams and other stakeholders to ensure our programs, events, and communications are supported by strategic messaging and policy.
- Manage subordinate staff, including providing oversight, coaching, and mentoring to a high-performing Policy and Strategy Team.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in International Development, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in international development research or policy analysis.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive documents.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, analyze and synthesize complex issues.
- Strong understanding of current U.S. global development architecture, U.S. national security toolkit and geostrategic threats, multilateral system, and humanitarian issues and trends.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in research methods and data analysis tools. Experience with analyzing large datasets to identify trends and datapoints is a highly desirable.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary range of $85K-$120K will be offered commensurate with experience and qualifications.
