TEAMS AND INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Communications and Narrative Change

The Communications and Narrative Change intern will be charged with organizing and updating the Living Cities editorial calendar for social media and digital media; updating the team’s editorial calendar; supporting the Senior Associate in building a storytelling archive; providing on-site support at the 2024 Collective Action conference; and supporting LC-sponsored events with event coordination. This a great opportunity for students who are studying or have an interest in making social impact through integrated communications, digital storytelling, branding, public relations, media relations, and narrative change.

The goal of this role is to introduce or expand the student’s knowledge of current communications and narrative change practices, promising approaches, and models that are used to advance social causes; and to assist the CNC team in establishing systems for the organization’s editorial and storytelling strategies. This position reports to the Director of Communications and Narrative (CNC), with close supervision from the CNC Senior Associate.

Primary functions may include:

Executes on strategic and practical activities in support of the Communications and Narrative Change (CNC) team matters including but not limited to:

  • Assist in coordinating media events and activities for the 2024 Living Cities Collective Action Conference;
  • Research reporters and editors for the creation of a social media reporters list.
  • Help establish storytelling archive.
  • Assist with the internal and external collection of content for newsletters.

Center for Wealth Equity

The CWE Intern will support the Center’s mission by assisting with research, data organization, and knowledge management activities. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in analyzing racial wealth equity initiatives and supporting knowledge translation for various stakeholders. The position reports to the Associate and works closely with the Center for Wealth Equity team.

Primary Functions

  • Support research and data collection activities
  • Assist in organizing and categorizing knowledge resources
  • Help maintain knowledge management systems

Key Responsibilities

Research Support

  • Conduct literature reviews on racial wealth equity topics
  • Assist in gathering and organizing materials from Living Cities members
  • Support environmental scanning activities
  • Support citation management and documentation

Project Support

  • Help prepare materials for team meetings
  • Assist in tracking project timelines and deliverables
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed
