We are seeking a Sr. Associate, Preparedness Program Development to support our Community Preparedness and Resilience Services program.

 

Location: This position is fully remote and eligible for work anywhere within the continental United States.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

This position serves as a member of the Community Preparedness and Resilience Services program planning and implementation team. Provides management and oversight of preparedness programs ensuring that implementation and defined activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives. Provides planning, design, implementation, and innovation support to assigned program area and team portfolio. Analyzes program activity and identifies areas for improvement. This position helps to develop solutions to complex challenges, often including short deadlines and large financial impacts. This position applies extensive technical expertise. Work is performed without appreciable direction and exercises considerable latitude. This position functions in a project leadership role, including coordination with senior internal and external stakeholders. May work with internal and external contacts to develop program strategies and proposal initiatives. Provides support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

 

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

 

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Manages and supports program supply resourcing by developing and maintaining key business partner relationships with internal and external partners, including but not limited to vendors, supply chain management, finance, enterprise warehouse team, and Red Cross regional team members.

  • Directs and coordinates activities concerned with implementation and carrying out objectives of program function or activity. May be responsible for the planning, execution and evaluation of a specific project or program.

  • Collects and analyzes data, identifies areas of need and/or improvement, and develops recommendations for program and procedure improvement. Develops reports on project status and issues for management review. Supports monitoring of inventory valued up to $8 Million.

  • Supports Program Manager by co-leading national relationships and independently leading critical areas of work. May work in conjunction with internal departments and external government and/or non-government agencies in the development of program strategies and proposal initiatives as required.

  • Supports logistics for just-in-time and large-scale orders of smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors and other preparedness materials.

  • Provides ongoing guidance to regions and acting as a key point of contact for program leads, Region Disaster Officers, Division Points of Contact, and on occasion Division Disaster Executives.

  • Liaises with Disaster Cycle Services operations and program development counterparts on behalf of the Community Preparedness Programs team to help facilitate inter-departmental cooperation, data sharing, and major event planning.

  • Supports preparedness briefings and workforce trainings with set-up, production and post-production video and collateral, develops slides for briefings, and staffs other presentations as requested.

  • Executes other duties as required.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Studies in international relations, public health, social sciences, or management, or related fields desired.

  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

  • Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of program or service. Demonstrated ability in creating presentations and developing training modules. Excellent oral and communication skills, including training and presentations. Excellent data management and analytical skills, including spreadsheet capabilities, experience working with large data sets, statistical analysis, etc. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Develop project plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve organizational goals. Demonstrate analytical and decision-making skills to develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements. Knowledge of grant agreements and grant management preferred. Advanced proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook. Must display flexibility, adaptability, initiative, and a high degree of competence in project support, research and teamwork. Must possess strong personal integrity and ability to adapt to changing situations. Must possess ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Ability to work on a team.

  • Travel: Possible travel one or two times a year to support relief operations in disaster-affected areas. Additional travel may be required a few times a year to attend meetings, support program implementation, and provide technical assistance.

 

  • Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined.

 

The salary range for this position is $82,800-$85,000.

 

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.
