After World War II, excess food for troops became the original CARE Package®-- an outpouring of American generosity for war-torn Europe. Out of that grew a global movement, and today, CARE’s work fills critical gaps for families living in or on the cusp of poverty in the U.S and 120 countries. With increasing needs across the country, CARE is growing its US Programs to help support low-income families and communities. Role, the Program Manager, US Programs will report to the Director, US Programs and play an important role in realizing this growth ambition by providing critical program and partner support functions across the portfolio and managing the cash assistance program. Specifically, the Program Manager will:
- Lead implementation and measurement of emergency cash program
- Help capture, analyze and communicate program learnings internally and externally
- Facilitate partnership building through communications, agreements and reporting
- Provide project management support across the US Programs portfolio
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Cash Assistance Program
Support Program Measurement and Evaluation, Knowledge Management
Facilitate Partnership Development
Project Management and Administration
Support development of US Programs communications pieces and marketing content
Provide operational and logistical support for CARE Package and goods distribution as needed
Support U.S. emergency responses as needed including:
-Supporting digital and fundraising teams in developing content for funding appeals
-Facilitating connections with partners to gather case studies and photos for storytelling.
-When needed, deploying to emergency areas to support partners through immediate relief activities including distributions, cash assistance and grants.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- 5-7 years experience in non-profit, government or community organization
- 2 years experience with cash assistance programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree preferred (especially in areas of social sciences, statistics, public health or public policy) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to collect, analyze, and present impact measurement outcomes
- Strong organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Instinctive problem-solver
- Experience working for or with local community organizations in the United States
- Experience working in partnership development or customer service functions
