Position description
For this purpose, you will be responsible for:
- Context analysis/Strategy/Development: You will participate in the development of the operational strategy in FNSL and contribute to the design of new relevant FNSL interventions on the mission based on the identified FNSL needs in the country, and in line with PUI FNSL intervention framework, and integrating the principles of market-based programming. In coordination with the FNSL team, you will monitor FNSL activities in the country and analyse their strengths and weaknesses. You will actively participate in the design and implementation of initial FNSL diagnostics;
- Programmes quality: You will provide technical support in your field of expertise to the programme teams, in particular to the FNSL Programme Managers, and ensure the quality and effectiveness of the mission's FNSL programmes;
- Representation/Coordination: You will ensure PUI's external representation for the FNSL sector to partners, donors, national authorities and local actors. You will represent PUI in the FNSL Cluster/FNSL sector coordination group meetings. You will contribute to the good information sharing within the FNSL sector;
- Human resources/Training: You will provide technical support to the project teams and in particular to the FNSL teams. You will provide support to the project managers for the recruitment of technical staff in FNSL. Working alongside the Head of Mission (HoM) and/or the Deputy HoM for Programs and the HQ FNSL Advisor, you will identify key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and gaps within FNSL department. You will supervise the content of FNSL training and the quality of FNSL activities on the basis of identified needs;
- Logistics and Administration: You will ensure the teams under your responsibility follow logistic and administrative procedures and keep the logistic and administrative departments informed of any relevant developments;
- Security: You will contribute to the compliance with security rules on the mission and share all information related to security to your line manager and/or to the mission's security manager.
What you will need to succeed
Training
- You hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, social science, agronomy, agro-economy, food processing, or a degree in Veterinary medicine.
Experience
- Strengthened by minimum 3 years as a manager of humanitarian projects, you also have a strong experience in some of the following topic: economics both at macro and micro level, agricultural, breeding, food assistance programming, cash transfer program, market analysis and market based approach, resilience support programs. Experience in needs evaluation, in targeting methodologies and/or in international team management will be appreciated. You already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? It would be a definite asset!
Skills
- You master the project management, you have excellent writing skills and a detailed knowledge of institutional donors (OFDA, ECHO, AAP, UN agencies). Data analysis and basic statistic skills will be valued.
Qualities
- You are able to work independently and to take responsibility with organization and in a proactive approach. You demonstrate adaptability, a sense of analysis, a great capacity to listen and to negotiate, and good leadership skills. You have a general ability to resist stress, particularly in a changing environment.
Languages
- English has no secrets for you! All the better, it is mandatory for this position. If you speak Spanish, Arabic and/or French, it would be a definite asset.
