The intern is required to work the equivalent of a minimum of at least two months on a full-time basis in order to receive recognition of service as an intern. An internship must be completed within a six-month period. The preferred duration for this internship with UNSCOL is three months subject to extension for up to 6 months.
Duties and Responsibilities
This internship is positioned in the Political Unit, Office of the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, located in Beirut (Yarze), Lebanon. The intern reports directly to the Chief, Political Unit and liaises closely with members of UNSCOL’s Political and other substantive units. The intern will provide support to the activities of the Political Unit, according to a work plan and delivery schedule. This will include, but will not be limited to the following elements:

Languages
Fluency in English and Arabic (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of French would be an asset.

Interns may not apply for or be appointed to any position in the Professional and higher categories or at the FS-6 and FS-7 levels in the Field Service category during the period of their internship and the six months immediately following the expiration date thereof.
A person who is the child, stepchild, sibling, and step-sibling of a staff member shall not be eligible to apply for an internship at the United Nations.
