The World Vision EU Representation office works to support World Vision’s engagements with theinstitutions of the European Union (EU). The Brussels-based office pursuits two main strategic goals:

• To influence key EU decision-makers and political processes so that policies, programmes andfunding opportunities of the EU positively impact vulnerable children and their communities.
• To promote and facilitate access by World Vision offices around the world to the fundingopportunities provided by the EU.

Purpose

The Humanitarian Advocacy and Policy Specialist will contribute to the optimal functioning of WorldVision’s EU Representation (EUREP) and to the achievement of its strategic objectives: engagement withthe EU is sustained, institutional funding pipeline is strengthened, relationships with strategic EU actorsand partners are nurtured, World Vision continues to be recognised as a credible and impactful EU-facingorganisation, for the well-being of children.

Within these objectives, the Humanitarian Advocacy and Policy Specialist will specifically contribute toWV Partnership’s relations with European Union entities in order to enhance World Vision’s humanitarianmission and impact, by managing policy and advocacy actions around EU humanitarian action and byinfluencing EU policies and funding environments around children in crises and fragile contexts.

Key responsibilities :

• Contribute actively to the development and implementation of EU humanitarian advocacy andpolicy strategies aligned with World Vision and ECHO priorities.
• Lead and coordinate advocacy actions on humanitarian crises, fragility, resilience, and Nexus-related issues.
• Draft policy papers, advocacy briefs, analyses and position documents on EU humanitarian affairs.
• Monitor and analyse EU humanitarian policies, political trends and stakeholder developments.
• Strengthen relationships with ECHO, EU institutions, NGOs, coalitions and humanitarian partnersin Brussels
• Represent World Vision in EU humanitarian events, forums and advocacy networks such as VOICE.
• Coordinate advocacy visits, campaigns and high-level engagements involving global and fieldteams.
• Support World Vision’s visibility, positioning and resource development with EU stakeholders anddonors.
• Advise internal teams on EU humanitarian advocacy priorities and ensure alignment across global,regional and field levels
• Contribute to knowledge sharing, capacity building and the integration of advocacy componentsinto ECHO proposals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Humanitarian Affairs.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in EU humanitarian policy and advocacy.
• Excellent understanding of EU institutions.
• Strategic thinking and ability to influence policy discussions.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Project coordination and execution of advocacy initiatives.
• Networking and coalition-building abilities, especially with NGOs, coalitions and EU actors.
• Excellent command of English written and spoken; French is an asset.
• Ability to travel occasionally in humanitarian contexts.
• Willingness to foster a transparent and inclusive team culture that values diversity, equity, andrespectful collaboration.
