Tenure Track Assistant Professor in International Relations, Political Science

Position description

The Department of Political Science at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure-stream position in International Relations at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will begin in the fall of 2027. We seek scholars who focus on human security. We especially welcome expertise in areas such as gender; technology/AI; climate change; global public health; human rights; and/or other transnational challenges. The department is open to a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches to address these topics. Completion of PhD is required before, or shortly after, the date of hire.

The successful candidate should be able to teach introductory courses in International Relations as well as more advanced courses in the candidate's areas of interest. Candidates will be expected to contribute to university-wide programs including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. Candidates may also contribute to one or more of Colgate's many Institutes and Centers. The teaching load is five courses (or their equivalent) over two semesters.
