Position description

The duration of the internship is for six (6) months. The internship is UNPAID and may be either full-time or part-time. It should be noted that full-time internship working hours are 35 hours per week, while part-time internship working hours are 20 hours per week. The internship will be undertaken either remotely outside the duty station or in a hybrid working arrangement at the UN Premise, New York, United States. Under the overall guidance of the Chief of PBCSB, the intern will perform the following functions: · Research, compile and summarize background materials for use in preparation of meetings, reports, summaries, etc.; · Assists in the coordination of service-wide activities, special projects and events; · Supports the management and development of internal databases; updates the website; generates a variety of standard and non-standard statistical and other reports from various databases; · Assists in the preparation of presentation materials using appropriate technology/software; · Performs a variety of administrative duties, as requested. · Perform other functions, as requested.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
