Project Manager, Strategic and Co-Chair Communications

Position description

C40 is a network of nearly 100 mayors of the world's leading cities working to confront the climate crisis and limit global heating to 1.5°C. The Communications team strategically positions C40 as one of the world's most impactful climate organisations.

This role sits at the heart of C40's communications team, supporting the Director of Strategic Communications, Media and Partnerships. The post holder will co-lead strategic communications activities and lead special projects advancing climate action globally, while providing specific support to the Co-Chair's communications.

Responsibilities:
- Support delivery of strategic communications plans for key organisational priorities and milestones, including drafting communications plans and coordinating their implementation
- Monitor delivery and impact of communications activities, identifying opportunities to strengthen outcomes
- Support strategic communications for the Breathe Cities programme
- Coordinate, manage and help grow the Communications Network, maintaining member relationships and engagement
- Support planning and delivery of network convenings including agenda development, logistics and speaker briefings
- Draft and edit communications content including key messages, press releases, statements and emails
- Integrate Co-Chair communications workplans into the organisation's wider milestone communications planning
- Lead and maintain administrative systems, workflows and processes for the Strategic Communications, Media and Partnerships team
- Coordinate project plans, meeting schedules, action trackers and reporting across multiple workstreams

Qualifications

Person Specification:
- Strong experience in communications and project management
- Experience drafting key messages, press releases and other communications materials
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships including high-profile stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills and detail-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability working with diverse cultures internationally
- Commitment to a long-term career working internationally on climate change
- Additional language skills desirable

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Moderate travel required. Salary: GBP £54,920 gross per annum (Grade 4). Indefinite contract.
