Position description

The Country Liaison Officers (CLOs) & Delegations Coordinator – Learning and Development plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of CLOs and partner-government activities under the Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program (PLMSP), which supports the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme on behalf of DFAT. The role coordinates allocated country portfolios and provides end-to-end operational support to CLOs and delegations, strengthening engagement between PALM scheme employers, workers, Labour Sending Units (LSUs) and key stakeholders across Australia and the Pacific. Responsibilities include acting as primary operational contact for allocated partner-country portfolios; coordinating country-level activities arising from CLO, LSU and delegation engagement; identifying emerging operational issues and risks; providing travel and logistics coordination for CLOs and delegations; supporting CLO induction, onboarding and ongoing learning and development; contributing to continuous improvement of CLO practice guidance, resources and systems; and maintaining effective working relationships with CLOs, LSUs, DFAT, DEWR, Approved Employers and other stakeholders. Candidates should demonstrate effective communication in a culturally diverse environment, professionalism and diplomatic sensitivity, strong attention to detail, experience in event planning, logistics and travel coordination (including in rural/regional Australia), basic finance/accounting experience, and a driver's licence with flexibility for frequent travel including interstate and international. Applicants must have valid Australian or country-specific work rights; visa sponsorship is not available. This is a fixed-term, full-time, office-based/hybrid role in Brisbane through September 2028.
