Position description

The Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) Program at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship beginning Fall 2027 (appointment start date July 1, 2027). The fellowship lasts one year, with the possibility of annual renewal for up to four additional years, contingent upon a satisfactory performance review and funding.

This position is designed to support a talented economist working in behavioral or experimental economics, or a related PPE area. Duties include pursuing an independent research agenda and teaching three (3) courses each academic year, consisting of two (2) advanced interdisciplinary seminars and one (1) research seminar focused on training a small cohort of students in field-specific research methods. Seminar topics will be developed in consultation with the program and should reflect the fellow's expertise while engaging substantively with PPE.

Qualifications

Applicants must have completed a PhD in Economics or a closely related field by the start of the appointment, along with a demonstrated record of interdisciplinary engagement, a strong research trajectory, and prior teaching experience.
