Are you a seasoned media relations pro, ideally a former journalist, with real newsroom contacts?
Remote, freelance. Two-story worldwide media campaign through Christmas and into 2027.
We are hiring experienced media relations freelancers to place stories for Peace 2000 Earthchild, the humanitarian charity that has for thirty years flown Santa into places most organisations could not reach: Chernobyl, Baghdad and Sarajevo, working with Red Cross and Red Crescent on the ground. The campaign is run by Islandus Group.
We hire per market. Priority: USA and UK, then Canada, Ireland, Australia, Germany, Netherlands, the Nordics, Switzerland, Poland and Brazil.
Story 1: An investigative exclusive (launching now)
A fully documented investigative story about a humanitarian charity's missing funds, a London-regulated payments firm and the regulators' slow response. The complete evidence is published in a book by the charity's founder, who is on the record and available for interviews. The full brief is shared with shortlisted candidates.
Story 2: The Christmas story (December)
Santa flies into a war zone again this Christmas. Children worldwide send personal messages and gifts, lighting up a live global map, ending in a live Christmas Eve flight and illuminated convoy built for TV, social media and human-interest coverage.
What you will do
Pay: USD 40-90 per hour depending on experience and market. Starts with a short paid test. Strong performers continue with us into 2027 campaigns.
