POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Legal Partnerships Manager leads ALIGHT’s engagement with legal partners, ensuring survivors are matched with skilled, trauma-informed attorneys. The position builds the capacity of ALIGHT’s National Attorney Network through training, technical assistance, and sustained partner engagement. This role also supports the effective use and evolution of ALIGHT’s technology platform, provides strategic guidance on legal case placement, and contributes to continuous program improvement.
This part-time role is a 50% position.
The position reports to the Program and Operations Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Placement & Support
- Lead onboarding and engagement of ALIGHT’s program partners, including the National Attorney Network (1,500+ attorneys) and community service providers.
- Give guidance to the Intake Advocate and community service providers in drafting case summaries, identifying legal issues, and determining jurisdictions.
- Proactively manage ALIGHT’s technology platform to ensure active engagement and compliance.
- Independently identify legal gaps and conduct outreach, vetting, and onboarding of new legal partners.
- Give technical assistance to ALIGHT’s partners using ALIGHT’s technology platform and tools.
- Contribute to the creation of any required documentation for survivors.
Case Monitoring & Quality Control
- Open new matters and maintain records in ALIGHT’s CRM/database.
- Maintain regular communication with team members and attorneys to support successful case placement.
- Develop and manage systems for tracking case progress, including attorney surveys and direct outreach.
- Design, implement, and analyze partner feedback processes to inform continuous improvement and reporting.
Network Building and Partnership Development
- Design and lead strategic initiatives to grow and deepen ALIGHT’s network of partners.
- Conduct outreach, onboarding, vetting and training of attorneys.
- Maintain and steward partner relationships using ALIGHT’s partnership tier model; proactively address partnership needs and opportunities.
- Build capacity within the National Attorney Network to deliver trauma-informed, survivor-centered legal care through training, mentorship, and engagement.
- Represent ALIGHT at community events and support initiatives to bolster engagement in the program.
- Develop and manage communications to promote stakeholder participation and engagement (e.g. development of the annual Impact Report).
- Maintain attorney and other relevant records in ALIGHT’s CRM/database.
Trainings & Materials
- Provide training to attorneys on (a) ALIGHT’s program, standards, and use of its technology platform, (b) trauma-informed and culturally competent lawyering
- Design resources and materials to build legal partners’ skills in working with survivors.
- Identify, develop and deliver additional training that responds to emerging program needs or gaps.
- Collaborate on training resources for community service providers when needed.
Program Development
- Identify and implement iterative program improvements based on outcomes and feedback.
- Identify and develop program improvements, including new systems, policies, and processes.
- Partner with leadership to develop strategic reporting frameworks and inform long-term program planning.
Other Program Support
- Manage and grow engagement through the National Survivor Law Collective (NSLC) listserv and collaborative activities.
- Perform other tasks regarding the maintenance of the National Survivor Law Collective (NSLC) as assigned.
Other Duties
- Domestic travel may be required for training and outreach.
- Additional duties as assigned in alignment with ALIGHT’s strategic goals.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Role-Specific
- Experience in the legal field, such as holding a J.D. or 2+ years of work involving legal content, pro bono programs, or court-adjacent services.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, onboard, and support pro bono attorneys, including issue-spotting and tech onboarding.
- Experience managing legal cases or projects that require coordination across multiple jurisdictions or stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze attorney engagement data and generate insights to inform network growth and training needs.
- Comfort developing professional materials and presentations for a legal-services audience.
- (Preferred): Familiarity with basic graphic design and process documentation tools.
- (Preferred): Legal issue-spotting and determining jurisdictions.

- Experience in growing networks, developing partnerships and building relationships across diverse stakeholders.
- Experience developing and facilitating trainings, both live and virtual, using accessible and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including content creation.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, maintain professional boundaries, and model self-care and resilience.
