Foreign Policy is looking for a versatile journalist to oversee social media and podcast production in its Washington, D.C. newsroom.Candidates should be digital natives and fluent in the latest tools needed to run and build the social media presence of an award-winning magazine. You’ll bring enthusiasm and deep knowledge of engaging with Twitter and Facebook audiences in creative ways. You’ll geek out over Chartbeat metrics and CrowdTangle stats. You’ll have ideas and strategies to help a lean and hungry team of reporters and editors maximize their content and visibility on Instagram, Snapchat, and whatever comes next — with the goal of driving overall traffic and engagement.The ideal candidate will have prior experience and a passion for journalism, be immersed in the international news cycle, and knowledgeable about the latest digital trends. This job requires coordinating with editors and reporters about how to leverage the greatest possible impact out of stories and how to engage with our growing audience. The candidate will also oversee production and editing of FP’s podcasts: The Editors’ Roundtable, The Backstory, and Global Thinkers.
