Duties

In this position, you will serve as the CS&C Audit Liaison, responsible for coordinating the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General (DHS-OIG) Audit Liaison Programs' policies, processes, and procedures within CS&C to ensure appropriate and efficient program management. Being a program specialist makes you a valuable member of the federal Cybersecurity and Communications profession as you help evaluate, analyze, and/or investigate the effectiveness and efficiency of mission-oriented programs. Typical assignments include:

  • Establishing and maintaining direct liaison with internal and external representatives to ensure audits are properly coordinated between DHS and OIG and/or GAO.
  • Managing and maintaining a formal file management system for audit-related correspondence and policy documents that promotes and facilitates information-sharing efforts across the organization.
  • Ensuring the capture, analysis, and reporting (for both internal and external requestors) of statistical data relating to the organization's audit liaison activities.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert and consultant for all GAO and OIG questions and requests throughout the organization.
  • Serving as an advisor to senior leadership on all GAO and OIG matters.
