Position description

About Global Witness

Our vision is simple: we want a better world - where corruption is challenged and accountability prevails, all can thrive within the planet’s boundaries and governments act in the public interest.

Our investigations have helped people better understand their world, and hold people and organisations with power to account.

We’re looking for an investigative journalist to join our highly respected investigations team to publish ground-breaking exposés and report on issues that support our vision.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Investigations you’ll carry out deep investigations and support others in their investigative work, tackling issues of key importance to Global Witness’s campaigns.

About you

Naturally you’ll have the investigative and writing skills required to conduct a journalistic investigation from start to finish. You’ll bring a working knowledge of natural resource and financial issues, a depth of experience in working with data and you’ll be meticulousness in dealing with facts.

You’ll be collaborative in nature and be ready to go the extra mile in documenting your findings for review by others. You’ll also be willing to travel to high-risk environments for research.

Finally, a strong sense of determination and persistence, and insatiable curiosity is essential for this role.

Working for us

We aim to be a diverse and inclusive place to work.  We value new perspectives, original ideas and different ways of working. We believe that different views and experiences improve the way we do our work. We do our best to make our jobs accessible to all, regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation or identity.

We offer an excellent benefits package including a competitive salary and 25 days holiday (exc. public holidays), private medical insurance and flexible working arrangements.
