The Middle Eastern Studies Program, Department of Politics, and Department of International Studies at the University of San Francisco invite applications for a part time (adjunct) instructor for our International Relations of the Middle East course for spring semester 2018. The class is scheduled to be taught Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:00-2:05pm. Spring semester begins on January 22 and ends May 17, 2018.
Successful applicants should be prepared to cover the course description: “An overview of the politics and the governmental systems of Middle Eastern nations, including the historic, religious, ideological, economic and cultural forces that shape government policies, social movements, and ongoing conflicts. Topics include the role of Arab nationalism, Zionism, human rights, the Islamic resurgence, terrorism, imperialism and globalization.”
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Politics, International Relations, or related social science field; specialization in international relations of the Middle East; and strong academic records and communication skills. Preference is for a candidate who has experience teaching at the university level. Advanced doctoral candidates are also invited to apply.
