The Job

CyberScoop is looking for a reporter to cover cybersecurity in the nation’s capital. The position will cover one of the most exciting beats in Washington, reporting on developments at the NSA, White House, intelligence community, along with the private companies that monitor and research nation-state-backed hacking groups.


  • Four years of professional daily journalism experience as a reporter or editor;
  •  Familiarity with technology and experience reporting on defense or intelligence agencies;
  •  A bachelor's degree in journalism, preferably online/new media concentration;
  •  Strong communications and organization skills;
  •  The willingness to work collaboratively with a team and independently as required;
  •  Strong knowledge of SEO, AP Style and social media; and
  •  Experience with multimedia tools, CMS systems and programming to create a polished final product.
