In an effort to measurably improve UNICEF's ability to deliver better results for children, and to also support the HR Reforms, the Division of Human Resources (DHR) is embarking on a transformational process in a number of key areas, including streamlined and efficient talent acquisition, strategic HR business partnering, and results-focused performance management and career development.
We are hiring an experienced an HR Business Partner (HRBP) at the P4 level in our HR reform initiative.

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Unit works closely with partners and stakeholders to strategically align HR with business needs. HRBPs invests their holistic knowledge of Human Resource Management to guide leadership, management and staff and provide them with sound, tailored, and coherent HR solution. They will address HR related needs and proactively advise their partners on appropriate strategies and measures. The HRBP Unit will also collaborate with DHR Centers of Expertise, Regional HR teams and GSSC to support the rollout and implementation HR Reform, policies, practices, tools, and much more.

Strategic Business Partnering:
Proactively collaborate with clients to help fulfill their business goals through anticipating HR-related needs and presenting subsequent plans of action. Advice clients on the resolution of human resources issues ensuring equitable and transparent solutions that protects both the staff and organization’s interests. Collaborate effectively with other DHR sections and centers of expertise to provide coherent solutions for clients.
Act as Change Agent:
Liaise with the HQ Divisions, regional and country offices to support and contribute to corporate HR strategy formulation and global implementation. Interpret and analyze HR data to help inform strategic decision making on HR processes and strategies. Promote HR initiatives that support organizational culture change, improved results and staff development and explain the scope and ramifications of proposed HR initiatives, promoting understanding of their purpose and functional advantages. Promote the organizational goals and targets for gender equity and cultural diversity.
In collaboration with business owners, help design and deliver learning solutions for staff to enhance their knowledge and build skills in new areas. Contribute to the mapping of competencies for all staff in assigned client portfolio, assisting in the development of a comprehensive framework in support of the development of the talent pipeline. Recommend efficient and cost-effective learning products which strengthen staff capacity to contribute effectively to business goals. Provide day-to-day performance and talent management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions). Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Maintain and enhance relationships with centers of expertise, the global shared services center and global staff association. Collaborate with sister-agencies on best HR practices within the UN or other affiliated organizations. Attend HR networking events – both within the UN system and the private sector.
Management of Unit:
Actively participates in establishing and implementing the annual work plan, setting priorities/targets and performance measures. Monitor work progress and ensure results are achieved according to schedule and performance standards. Establish clear individual performance objectives, goals and timelines; and provide timely guidance to enable the team to perform their duties responsibly and efficiently. Provide coaching and mentoring to staff in the Unit within the business partnering team to help enhance knowledge and skills for career advancement.
