Position description

This internship is ideal for a recent graduate or student with a keen interest in European affairs, energy and climate issues, looking to gain work experience in Brussels. Ours is a busy, multi-national and English-speaking office looking to recruit a motivated intern to join our small team.

Activities will include:

Policy & Advocacy: support EuroACE in:

  • Monitoring policy developments on energy efficiency in buildings at EU and national level.
  • Advocating for ambitious policies in the field of renovation in the context of the new European Green Deal, e.g. through setting up and participating in meetings with MEPs or Commission officials.
  • Attending events and conferences and reporting back.

External Communications:

  • Assisting with (daily) communications on social media (Twitter, LinkedIn);
  • Updating the website (WordPress) when needed;
  • Helping in disseminating communications materials (MailChimp, liaising with journalists);
  • The intern will also have the chance to support the Renovate Europe Campaign, a political communications campaign which is run by EuroACE.

Internal Communications:

Supporting the team in writing the Weekly Newsletter to members. Undertaking membership outreach, e.g. responding to members’ request for information. Attending internal meetings (and assisting with the organisation of same) and occasionally taking minutes.

Event Management:

Providing administrative support to EuroACE, particularly the Communications & Events Officer, regarding preparation and logistics for events in Brussels (e.g. EU Sustainable Energy Week) or workshopsin other EU countries(e.g. in the Netherlands and Romania). Typical tasks include outreach to speakers, booking of rooms, advertising on social media, management of participant lists, ordering catering, etc.


Some small tasks related to financial matters, preparation of PowerPoint presentations, etc.

The internship will be paid under a CIP contract (convention d’immersion professionnelle).

If you are a student or recent graduate with:

  • Interest in European affairs and energy & climate issues;
  • Some experience in event management;
  • Experience with social media;
  • Good communication and organisational skills;
  • Good command of English (proficiency in other languages welcome).
