The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University is accepting applications for the 2020 Energy Journalism Initiative in New York on June 16-19. The deadline is Feb. 16. With support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and others, EJI each year accepts 20 energy journalists from the U.S. and abroad to participte in a seminar intended to deepen their understanding of complex issues associated with energy, including commodities, markets, policy, geopolitics and science. The program is open to journalists covering energy for a news organization, with preference given to those with 5 or fewer years on the beat. Travel and lodging expenses are covered by the program. Since its inception in 2017, EJI has enrolled 60 journalists from newspapers, news wires, trade publications, public radio and other news organizations.
