Position description

Competitive Innovations is seeking a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst to join a dynamic team supporting a major federal agency customer.  This is an exciting opportunity to perform in-depth research and analysis to identify cyber threats and collaborate with law enforcement and intelligence entities to protect our national security.


  • Research and analyze issues and trends in assigned geographic region with an emphasis on cyber capabilities
  • Write documentation to include cybersecurity intelligence bulletins, white papers, memos, policies, briefings, alerts, and other products that conform with department standards
  • Ensure all oral and written communications products are developed in the appropriate style for intended audience
  • Effectively collaborate with analysts, engineers, and other stakeholders to analyze business issues, define communication product requirements, and develop appropriate communication strategies and solutions
  • Evaluate and assess targeting trends, decipher motivation behind targeting, and  recommend mitigation strategies as appropriate
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of cyber threats within assigned region, and also broadly, and the potential for exploitation of the Department
  • Produce cyber threat reference decks for specific foreign missions
  • Brief DoS security personnel and leadership
  • Respond to RFIs from DoS leadership and other agencies
  • Coordinate with interagency partners throughout the government and Intelligence Community on shared cybersecurity concerns


  • Secret security clearance, eligible for TS/SCI
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Intelligence, English, Communications, History, International Affairs or Studies, or other related technical or liberal art discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in intelligence or technical analysis
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills to include experience delivering briefings and presentations to executive-level audiences
  • Security+ certification at a minimum
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to support multiple priority efforts at the same time in a fast-paced environment, including short notice/ad hoc requests that may come at a moment's notice
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on cyber threat analysis
  • Ability to explain technical terms and concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Regional expertise related to cyber international relations, adversary tactics, and trends
  • Expertise in mobile, cloud, or critical infrastructure a plus

Travel Required:  Up to 10% travel to any location worldwide may be required
