Position description

VOA NEWS IS GROWING:  Voice of America is looking for a multimedia journalist with experience in international news reporting, online content verification, and digital publishing to work in Washington, D.C. for our fact-checking site.  You’ll verify the veracity and validity of information shared in news and social media; produce multimedia fact-checking reports, analyses and stories for the website; and create or contribute to content on VOA's social platforms. Fact-check reporters work in a highly collaborative, multilingual environment.  Written/spoken command of language(s) in addition to English is a plus.

This position is as a personal services contractor and includes eligibility for health and life insurance, overtime, paid time off, sick leave, and performance-based bonuses. You’ll have to pass a thorough background check. U.S. citizenship is not required, and visa sponsorship is possible for the right candidates. is the fact-checking arm of Voice of America, an international broadcaster that models a free press for countries where independent media and speech are restricted. VOA News is part of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, an independent agency of the U.S. government.  VOA journalists are protected from political interference by a legal firewall.
