Since 1979, teens and staff from more than 15 countries have gathered each summer in rural Bedford Virginia to form a living, working model of the global community. In our traditional camp setting, lifelong friendships are formed based on respect as a standard of human interaction.
At GYV, we see young people as integral players and provide hands-on leadership training so they can build a future of hope, creativity, and sustainability. In this unique community, youths meet change-makers addressing pressing global topics and focus on generating solutions and personal commitments.
Dates: June 27 - July 25, 2020 (Dates include staff orientation and wrap-up. Select staff begin a few days earlier.)

The Global Youth Village is a project of Legacy International , a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with special consultative status with the UN ECOSOC council. GYV is accredited by the American Camp Association.
All summer positions include housing and meals, limited medical and accident insurance, and weekly laundry service. (This includes interns.)
Staff are responsible for transportation costs to and from Bedford. This is negotiable for those traveling from abroad or the U.S. west coast. (If taking public ground or regional air transport, Legacy picks up staff from near-by cities of Roanoke or Lynchburg, Virginia.)
