IRI is creating student and employee partnerships that facilitate the growth and development of IRI's future leadership. Based in Washington, DC, the intern will support the work of one of IRI’s program services divisions (Accounting, Business Development, External Affairs, Grants, Human Resources, Monitoring and Evaluation, Procurement, Information Technology) 

Interns will learn about time management and work on tasks in a fast-paced international affairs environment. Other professional learning opportunities include attending panels and relevant DG&R program support.

This position is will start on June 8, 2020 for no more than sixteen (16) weeks and may not be extended.  

Position Requirements:   

  • Availability to start on June 8, 2020 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office  
  • Detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills 
  • Flexibility to changing situations and priorities

Possible Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assists staff with program activities, events and training missions
  • Supports database system and database management
  • Monitors domestic and international media outlets daily for news regarding IRI
  • Writes as a contributor to IRI’s blogs
  • Create standard “How To” guides as needed
  • Assists in researching a variety of topics for briefing papers, program proposals and reports
  • Assists in preparing reports and presentations
  • Provides administrative support
  • Provides back-up for the receptionist
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education

Required

Some college or better.
