The Fuller Project is a leading global nonprofit newsroom dedicated to groundbreaking reporting on women. We partner with national and international news outlets to publish journalism that elevates women’s contributions, confronts injustice, and spurs citizens to hold governments, corporations and other institutions accountable.
Since 2015, our award-winning team has published hundreds of articles — from our TIME Magazine cover story on waitresses in American cities earning $2.13 an hour, to our four-part feature in Marie Claire on forced virginity testing in the U.S., to our devastating investigation into child sexual exploitation in the Philippines in The Washington Post. In 2019, our reporting won the Military Reporters & Editors, One World Media and Amnesty International UK Media Awards.
The Fuller Project seeks an experienced and ambitious senior newsroom leader to serve as Editor in Chief. The Editor in Chief will oversee and implement our editorial agenda, bring vision and inspiration to our newsroom, and lead partnerships with a variety of U.S.-based and international outlets. The Editor in Chief will nurture a strong sense of belonging and a collaborative spirit among our committed and talented editors and reporters.
The Editor in Chief will be an editor and journalist who upholds the highest standards of unbiased, non-partisan, rigorous journalism. Reporting to the CEO and with a close working relationship with a Board-level Editorial Committee, the Editor in Chief will uphold and advance our core values of editorial independence, integrity, diversity and civility; will be a creative and collaborative leader and team player; and will be able to quickly build expertise about issues that impact women.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading complex projects and collaborations and will be able to lead community-based, local, national and international reporting and partnerships. They will have demonstrated rigorous journalistic standards; strong writing, editing, and organizational skills; and excellent management and leadership experience.
