Position description

Are you ready to cut your teeth as a Washington, D.C., energy reporter, covering some of the hottest issues to face the Trump administration?

E&E News is looking for a reporting fellow for Energywire, one of our publications focused on all aspects of the energy sector, including politics, the White House, the Department of Energy, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, technology, renewables, oil and gas, coal and electric vehicles.

Our fellows spend the bulk of their time reporting and writing. We might send you to briefings with the Energy Secretary or to Capitol Hill to talk to lawmakers. You'll have access to senior federal agency officials and top leaders in the field, and will have opportunities to write on a range of energy topics. You'll write news stories from day one. We're looking for enterprising reporters with an interest in our issues.

Please note: All E&E News staff currently are working remotely because of the coronavirus.

Application instructions

Our fellowships are ideal for reporters with a year or two of experience, and they run for six months. To apply, send a cover letter, resume and your three best clips. Published clips are strongly preferred, and resumes will not be considered without writing samples. Please include the words "Energywire fellow" in your subject line.
