Position description

Bellevue University, the largest private, non-profit University in Nebraska, is seeking a full-time, non-tenured track faculty member to fill the Assistant Professor, Cybersecurity role in the College of Science and Technology.

Because Bellevue University is entrepreneurial and market driven, academic programs respond to industry dynamics. Consequently, the University values current industry and other “real world” experience for its faculty and students. Small class sizes optimize instructor-student interaction; hands-on activities translate theory into practice.

The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security have designated Bellevue University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cybersecurity.

Primary responsibilities include in-class and online instruction which will focus on the following topic areas:

· Information Assurance

· Risk Management

· Security Architecture

· Security Management

· Network Security

· Penetration Testing

· Computer Forensics

· Access Control

· Business Continuity

· Disaster Recovery

· Cryptography

· Regulatory Compliance

· Operations & Physical Security

While there is no research requirement for retention, ongoing professional activity/development is strongly encouraged and supported. Out-of-classroom responsibilities include course/curriculum development, student advising, industry outreach and service to the department and the university.

Additional information regarding the Cybersecurity major and the curriculum can be found at:  http://www.bellevue.edu/degrees/bachelor/cybersecurity-bs/ & https://www.bellevue.edu/degrees/master/cybersecurity-ms/
