Position description

Under the overall guidance of WHO Representative to Myanmar, direct supervision of the National Professional Officer (NCDs and Mental Health) and close coordination with NCDs Director, National Cancer Control Program Manager and National Childhood Cancer Control Program Manager from MoHS, the Program and Data Assistant (Childhood Cancer Initiatives) will provide technical support to National Cancer Control Program and Childhood Cancer Initiatives in the context of NCDs for implementation of Myanmar National Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan. The candidate will provide support to Ministry of Health and Sports for Cancer Prevention and Control in line with National Health Plan (2017-2021), WHO Myanmar Country Cooperative Strategy (CCS 2019-2023) and Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan (2018-2030). Routine tasks are performed independently with detailed guidelines. Overall supervision is focused on the successful implementation of Childhood Cancer Initiatives in the context of Myanmar National Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • To support implementation of National Childhood Cancer Control Program (NCCCP) including Childhood Cancer Initiatives (CCI) in the following activities. 

  1. Assist program officer to develop detail project implementation plan of National Childhood Cancer Control activities including CCI Project activities
  2. Support organizing and operation of event/activity/workshop/meeting
  3. Assist to develop activity reports including financial report as needed
  • To assist in logistic and supply management of medicines and supplies at implementing facilities and its network sites 

  • To perform routine data entry and of research projects

  • To perform translation of English into Burmese and vise-visa

  • Provide necessary administrative assistance for implementation of childhood cancer initiative project activities

  • To conduct office work and other duties as assigned by the NCCCP Program manager and National Program Coordinator

  • To submit assignment report at the end of assignment

Work Relations and Partnerships

The Program and Data Assistant (CCI) provides support to Program Officer (CCI) and relevant stakeholders, Yangon Children Hospital to ensure Childhood Cancer Initiative project activities are implementing in timely and effective manner
