Resolve to Save Lives, an initiative of Vital Strategies, is seeking a senior digital content strategist to lead the ongoing development of our digital platforms, provide strategic communications guidance on optimizing existing domains and streamlining communications products across platforms. Vital Strategies has several web domains:

  • (currently featuring all our COVID-19 work)
  • Several microsites for specific COVID-19 projects

The senior digital content specialist will be tasked with providing evidence-based recommendations for improving content delivery and promotion across platforms, with a primary focus on improving, which has quickly transitioned to meet the organization’s COVID-19 needs. RTSL has in-house senior-level designers, web developers and communications staff to support this work. Reporting to the Communications Director, the senior digital content specialist will be responsible for merging the talents of our in-house team with a robust website redesign implementation strategy and long-term content management workflow that keeps all our digital platforms current, complimentary and effective. Our team is fast paced.  The ideal candidate will need to hit the ground running, implementing a new strategy immediately and refining throughout the term of the contract.

Main responsibilities

  • Content strategy:
    • Conduct a content audit and comparative audit, develop content matrix and editorial guidelines for main Vital Strategies COVID sites (,,,
    • Improve content delivery and promotion across COVID sites
    • Evaluate past SEO strategies and recommend new strategy for COVID sites
    • Set guidelines for the tone, style and voice for COVID sites
    • Recommend and implement an editorial strategy so content is consistent and compelling across all delivery systems, including social media
    • Measure and analyze which content is resonating and which content isn’t, make recommendations for optimization
    • Draft content as needed
  • CMS redesign
    • Taxonomy and metadata recommendations, site maps, content models, workflow recommendations
    • Project manage website redesign timeline to meet COVID-19 needs
  • Any other duties as assigned


  • Minimum 15 years of experience in digital content strategy, website redesign and marketing
  • University degree
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Previous experience with digital campaign implementation
  • Clear, effective and responsive communicator
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS is a plus
  • Experience with Wordpress and Statamatic CMS systems
  • Experience in public health or healthcare a plus
  • Self-motivated, excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Can build trust and collaborate effectively with team members
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of Vital Strategies / Resolve to Save Lives and the communities we serve
