The Department of Political Science is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Assistant Professor vacancy.

Responsibilities

Florida A&M University's Department of History, Political Science, Geography and African American Studies invites applications for a 9-month Assistant Professor tenure track position beginning August 24, 2020. Florida A&M University is located in the state Capital, which provides our University and Department the opportunity to engage in local, state, and national policy issues. The Department of History, Political Science, Geography and African American Studies is housed in the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a Ph.D. in Political Science is required.

Recommended Competencies

  • Provide quality instruction in up to four courses per semester in american government, public policy, research methods and statistics in the political and social sciences;
  • Conduct research and publish in areas of specialization;
  • Engage in grantsmanship;
  • Support international education initiatives;
  • Engage in relevant community and university service; and
  • Provide mentorship to students in areas such as curriculum, professional develpment, employment and graduate school.
