Position description

The Energy Impact Center is a friendly, tight-knit team who is passionate about all things climate and energy. We are committed to analyzing and supporting the solution set of tools which are able to reverse climate change. We are looking for an integral team member to help conducted strategic web-based research on international developments in energy and climate change verticals, often related to nuclear power.

As a Research Assistant, you will be expected to jump right in and quickly ramp up on the array of projects that our senior staff are leading, bolstering the brainpower of the team through your strong writing and analytic skills. You will play an important role in mapping key networks and identifying the policymakers, thought leaders, and organizations to connect with. About EIC

The Energy Impact Center is a DC based research institute focused on Deep Decarbonization.

Founded in 2017 by robotics pioneer Bret Kugelmass, the EIC analyzes and supports the solution set of tools which are able to reverse climate change.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Contribute to drafting explanatory and analytical reports, data briefs, and other research materials, both independently and with supervision.
  • Conduct and record web-based research that will inform outreach activities for the organization. 
  • Configure SaaS platforms that lead to customized reports.
  • Carry out literature reviews, gathering both quantitative and qualitative data, to contribute to analytical research products, ensuring timeliness and accuracy in reporting.
  • Contribute to and/or co-author EIC publications.

Project Coordination & Administration

  • Offer support to the EIC Business and Marketing team's with project management and other tasks where necessary.
  • Manage contact relationship management (“CRM”) database(s) to ensure accurate capture of information for individuals and organizations of interest.
  • Prepare commissioned papers, including background papers, memoranda, reports, and articles, with guidance of senior staff.


  • Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of work experience.
  • Excellent English writing skills.
  • High motivation and initiative; ability to handle multiple assignments, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Proven research and analytical skills.
  • Strong interest in and/or professional background in migration policy or related field.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to effectively collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data through both primary and secondary sources.
  • Strong knowledge and application of data and statistical analysis, with a high proficiency in Google Sheets and related software.
