Lincoln Leadership Advisors, in collaboration with IE Team, has been engaged by Basque Trade & Investment to search for aProject Manager.

Basque Trade & Investment, BTI, ( is a public company owned and operated by the Basque Government, a result of the merger of SPRI Group international services and the Internationalization Area of the Basque Government’s Department of Development and Infrastructure. It was established with the firm commitment to support and facilitate the expansion of Basque companies into key markets around the world.

The Project Manager position is based in Washington DC and will report to the US Director. The Project Manager’s goal is to support and promote the internationalization of Basque companies through different programs and services provided by the Basque Government. BTI provides a wide range of customized services to its clients in order to encourage exports and imports, promote the best positioning in key markets through technical assistance and providing logistical support for those wishing to set up commercial delegations and production plants. In addition, BTI also advises foreign investors looking to invest and establish operations in the Basque Country, while becoming their best partner in Europe.

As part of the strategic plan for this attractive and challenging role, the candidate will report to the US Director and support the growth of the business. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service to both Basque and US companies and assist in the development of their projects. Other tasks include industry specific research, exploration of business opportunities, database management, meeting support, participation in business events, and other related activities as required.

In more specific terms, the successful candidate will:

  • Perform market research by sectors and regions;
  • Analyze and identify business opportunities for Basque exporters and investors;
  • Identify and contact potential partners and clients in the USA;
  • Advise companies on the process of exporting their products to the USA;
  • Draft technical economic and trade reports;
  • Manage and maintain client and prospect databases;
  • Execute marketing activities to promote the internationalization of Basque Companies;
  • Organize trade missions and agendas;
  • Attend conferences and trade shows.


  • 2-3 years minimum relevant experience;
  • Internationalization activities preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Master’s degree desirable.


  • Fluent in English and Spanish;
  • Basque language will be valued;
  • Knowledge or interest in the Basque Country and its culture will be valued;
  • Command of MS Office package;
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
