The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) is looking for an experienced investigative editor to join its award-winning Central Asia program.
This team of editors and reporters, based in Sarajevo and Bishkek, has produced a series of major reports highlighting criminality and corruption in the region, including ‘Plunder and Patronage’ in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, ‘Money by Marriage’ in Tajikistan, and ‘Kazakhstan’s Secret Billionaires’ in Kazakhstan.
Our goal is to expand both the quantity and quality of our reporting on the ground — and to create a new generation of Central Asian investigative reporters — by making a sustained investment in the development of local journalists across the region.
We need an experienced editor or reporter who can work with our Central Asian colleagues to develop their stories and bring them to OCCRP standards. A major part of this editor’s responsibility will be to serve as a mentor, developing our partners into their region’s top investigative journalists.
