Eurovision Americas, Inc. is seeking a part-time news producer at its Washington, DC headquarters. Eurovision Americas is the Washington based arm of the European Broadcasting Union.
Eurovision is responsible for gathering news material from the Americas and feeding them by file transfer or as live to the major TV networks of Europe.
Eurovision producers have a keen interest in news, a broad general knowledge about international affairs and the ability to recognize important breaking stories and act quickly to obtain the best video coverage. Producers also listen to and edit clips from press conferences, government briefings, congressional hearings, etc. Spanish language proficiency also an asset.
Editing is on non-linear equipment and producers also operate video routing panels and quality control equipment. Paid training will be given in all aspects of the work.
The part-time position will be primarily overnight shifts with the occasional day and evening shifts. A set schedule and guaranteed number of shifts will be offered per month. The work schedule will center around overnight shifts. Day shifts will be offered as required to cover vacations and periods of heavy workload. Employees who gain experience this way will be in prime position to compete for full-time staff jobs when vacancies arise.
