Global News Reporter


The BAL Global News Reporter will research, aggregate, write, and edit news stories on changes to global immigration. Must be able to synthesize information quickly and produce stories that are relevant to corporate clients. Will also help to draft and update BAL information deliverables, including Global Client Information, GCP, Country Summaries, Processes Outlines, Executive summaries, Client requests etc.



  1. Degree in Journalism
  2. 2 – 5 years of relevant experience
  3. Able to write and edit English for publication
  4. Mastery of AP style
  5. Able to work well under deadlines
  6. Able to research and delve deep into topics
  7. Keen eye for detail
  8. Able to clearly write about nuances in law
  9. Able to analyze news and write from a perspective that is relevant to clients
  10. Able to work independently
  11. Able to synthesize large quantities of information into succinct and useful copy
  12. Big plus: JD, Minor in in Political Science, International Relations, or Areas Studies (South East Asian Studies; Asian Studies, Near Eastern etc.), Economics, or difficult language (Korean, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew)


Must have excellent writing and communication skills, be highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task. Must also be able to work within strict time lines, have excellent customer service skills, and a high attention to detail. A writing test will be required.
