Position description

The Department of Politics and Government at Illinois State University seeks applicants for two non-tenure-track positions to teach legal research in Legal Studies. One position starts on August 16, 2021, to teach LGS 203: Legal Research I (three credit hours, .25 FTE) for the 2021 fall semester. The other position starts on January 16, 2022, to teach LGS 204: Legal Research II (three credit hours, .25 FTE) for the 2022 spring semester.

Required Qualifications

  1. A conferred JD degree from an ABA-accredited school prior to appointment start date.
  2. Three years of experience as a judge or attorney.
  3. For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a the requirement for this position.
  4. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources
