The Global Political Economy Project (GPEP) at the Mortara Center for International Studies at Georgetown University invites applications for pre-doctoral fellows during the 2021-2022 academic year. The Global Political Economy Project seeks to encourage innovative work by comparative and international political economy scholars that focuses on the ways in which global markets shape peoples' lives, and identifies how we might harness globalization for the greater good. Research might focus on markets and environmental sustainability, social inequality, geopolitics and power, digital technology, social identity, race, and democracy, among others. One pre-doc position will have a specific emphasis on China. This program is funded by the Open Society Foundation's Economic Justice Program and the Georgetown University Initiative for US-China Dialogue.
Fellows will pursue their own research as well as participate in the broader activities of GPEP, which will include workshops on emerging topics in political economy as well as professional training and mentoring opportunities. By the completion of the term, fellows will be expected to provide a research agenda proposal recasting a core political economy issue through the GPEP lens.
