In this exciting role as Policy Analyst within our Government Affairs & Policy (GA&P) organization. GA&P serves all three J&J businesses and the Enterprise overall through shaping healthcare systems and promoting innovation around the world. The GA&P EMEA team is headquartered in Brussels, with additional country leads based locally in key EMEA markets.

 

Location: Brussels
Contract type: temporary - 2-year contract 
Reports to: Head of the Brussels Office

 

Your key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report on EU and national developments on Healthcare, Public Health and Consumer policies as well as on relevant institutional activities and industry trends
  • Support projects specific to Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, and/or Consumer Health to ensure the implementation of advocacy and policy programs
  • Support and lead research, mapping of stakeholders, relationship management and alliance building
  • Support internal communication platforms and initiatives 
  • Support outreach activities with relevant external stakeholders and external J&J-sponsored events and speaking platforms 
  • Support in the Brussels office management; EU transparency register, membership of business organizations, financial and operational aspects, and coordination with the markets


Qualifications

We would love to hear from YOU, if you have:

  • Master’s degree in political science, law, international relations, economics, business 
  • 1-2 years’ experience in international or Brussels-based public affairs work (corporate, consultancy, NGO, trade association, EU institutions)
  • Deep understanding of the EU institutions and EU legislative processes
  • Good understanding of healthcare policy and/or fast-moving consumer goods policy issues
  • Proficient in English, additional European languages an asset
  • Good presentation skills and strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills
  • Intellectual curiosity, results oriented, sense of accountability, collaboration & teaming, self-awareness and flexibility 
  • Willingness to learn, ethical behaviour and cross-cultural awareness in line with J&J Credo values
