Position description

European Neighbourhood Council (ENC) is a fast-growing think tank organisation that provides space for young talented scholars to get a first-hand experience of how it is to work in a think tank, interact with policy-makers, academics and civil society activists in a challenging and demanding working environment in the policy-making centre of the European Union, Brussels.

We are looking for a recent graduate from a master’s programme related to political science/international relations/security studies with an interest on EU relations with the ENP countries, registered in Belgium, to work with us for a 12-month period as Research and Project Assistant.

The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal skills in English; high level research skills; good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to adapt to new issues, proactive attitude, self-motivation and positive attitude towards new challenges and working as a team player in an international working environment.

The Research & Project assistant will be:

  • involved in the handling of admin tasks (timesheets, meeting notes, internal/external communication) linked to the MEDIATIZED EU (Horizon 2020) project;
  • responsible for the ENC Analysis publications, including liaising with ENC academic council members and external advisors;
  • assisting in the implementation of the Beyond Erasmus project;
  • assisting in the implementation of the EUCAM Online Training Course;
  • drafting reports and taking notes during events;
  • representing ENC in events and conferences;
  • assisting the ENC Managing Director on fundraising (grants and tenders) and
  • assisting in the organisation of events

Application instructions

The position is remunerated under a Belgian CIP contract (Convention d'Immersion Professionnelle) with a maximum duration of 12 months starting from the 1st of October 2021, and is for 40 hours per week (5 days).
