Position description

HP Inc. is seeking to recruit a talented Government Relations professional with a passion for sustainability to lead HP’s engagement towards the EU Institutions and relevant stakeholders on Sustainability dossiers. The role is based in Brussels, Belgium. Reporting to the Head of Government Relations for Europe, Middle East and Africa, the Government Relations Manager will work closely with the Sustainable Impact Operations and Compliance team and the Business Units to develop and implement environmental strategies and projects to address policy issues affecting HP’s extensive portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a sound grasp of EU policy, flair for communications and a can-do mindset.


The role might involve occasional travel.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, and summarize key developments on EU sustainability;

  • Work internally very closely with the Business Units and with the Sustainable Impact Operations and Compliance team to develop and implement strategies to address sustainability policy issues impacting HP;

  • Manage lobbying activities towards the EU Institutions, EU Member States and any other relevant stakeholder on sustainability legislative/public policy issues impacting HP; Represent HP’s values and positions in trade associations. Participate proactively;

  • Provide analysis and become a strategic partner to advice the Business Units and Global Functions on policy trends, contributing to shape the internal strategy and decision-making;

  • Prepare memos, presentations, and briefing materials for both internal and external meetings, including briefings to HP Executives. PowerPoint skills are a plus.



  • A postgraduate degree level qualification in law, public policy, international affairs or similar;

  • Minimum seven (7) years of professional experience in EU public affairs (EU institutions, consultancy or other related work);

  • Solid understanding of government affairs and public policy making, strong organisation, presentation, communication and writing skills are critical;

  • A good understanding of EU sustainability files;

  • Ability to translate technical messaging into compelling policy recommendations;

  • Proven ability to implement policy engagement strategies to influence policy positions by developing and cultivating partnerships;

  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills and a proven track record of producing high quality content and materials;

  • A team player with the curiosity and intellectual drive to learn. Attention to detail;

  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken) and another EU working language. A third language will be an advantage;
