The Department of Political Science at the University of Detroit Mercy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Political Science, to begin August 2022. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience and/or competence in Comparative Politics, International Relations, International Political Economy, International Law and/or Human Rights Law.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The department seeks a vibrant scholar with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research in a liberal arts setting. The successful candidate will make significant contributions to our undergraduate curricula. They will be expected to teach general introductory political science courses in addition to topics in their area of specialization. Strong candidates will have ability to teach pre-law courses broadly construed, in political science. The teaching load for scholarly-active faculty is 3/3.
A Ph.D. in Political Science by August 16, 2022. We are especially interested in applicants dedicated to excellence in both teaching and research in a liberal arts setting. Strong candidates will have a record of experience or demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring diverse students.
