Position description

The Department of Politics and Government at Illinois State University seeks applicants for two non-tenure-track positions to teach Legal Studies courses for the 2022 fall semester. Both positions start on August 16, 2022. The first position will teach LGS 313: Law Office Technology (three credit hours, .25 FTE). The second position will teach LGS 319: Probate Law (three credit hours, .25 FTE).

Required Qualifications

1. A conferred JD degree from an ABA-accredited school prior to appointment start date.
2. Experience as a judge or licensed attorney. The probate law position requires three years’ experience as an attorney or judge.
3. For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
4. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources
